Lichen Walk at Hale
About This Event
The walk is co-hosted with the Boston Mycological Club and is an introduction to mushrooms and lichens. While the season for many choice edible mushrooms has passed, some mushrooms are visible year round. Participants will also gain awareness of lichens and learn to recognize common lichens they may encounter. Since lichens are small, please bring a hand lens or plan to use your smartphone’s camera to zoom in. This event will begin at the Cat Rock Parking lot.
