Find Your Ride
Our year-round Youth Mountain Biking Club for ages 8–14 offers sessions after school and on weekends. Young riders enjoy small-group instruction and non-competitive, skills-oriented fun! Everyone grows together as they explore Hale’s trails and skills park.
Regular Rides
Since this is a club (and not a traditional program), schedules aren’t fixed. Rides and activities are regularly offered but times and locations change throughout the year. In other words, know that you aren’t signing up for a specific number of sessions—you’re joining a community of riders that charts its own course!
Two weekday afternoon rides from 4:30–6 PM on Mondays and Thursdays serve all skill levels.

Weekend morning rides (days and times to be determined) serve all skill levels.

Two weekday afternoon rides from 4:30–6 PM serve beginners (on Mondays) and intermediate/advanced riders (on Thursdays).

She Senders
Alongside Hale’s year-round Youth MTB Club, our seasonal girls’ mountain biking program introduces ages 8–14 to the sport. It creates a safe learning environment in which young riders learn skills and techniques, enjoy camaraderie with peers, and build the confidence to send it on Hale’s trails. Strong female leads serve as guides and mentors who inspire small groups to redefine what it means to “ride like a girl.”
She Senders meets weekly on Saturday mornings in April and May.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. This is a youth club for kids to make friends, ride bikes, and develop skills. We teach them to become confident, well-rounded riders who are part of a larger community.
We call Hale home for most rides and explore 22+ miles of trails throughout its 1,250 acres of adventure. Rides in other locations are scheduled with the support of local NEMBA chapters so we can check out new trail systems.
A committed team of adult volunteers lead and organize rides. Hale’s Mountain Bike Program Coordinator & Hale MTB Camp Director Chris Nichols oversees the club. Please contact him if you are interested in volunteering. If you have a question about our girls’ MTB program, She Senders, please contact Leslie Riding.
Payment of annual dues is required to join Hale’s Youth MTB Club, regardless of what time of year you join. Dues cover participation from April through February (the club takes a break during mud season), a jersey, and access to events throughout the year. You’ll also be among the first to know about opportunities that include clinics, races, and camps.
She Senders is its own program; registration fees for She Senders do not include enrollment in Hale’s year-round Youth MTB Club. But we encourage all girls, inclusively defined—this includes trans, nonbinary, gender non-conforming, and other individuals who identify as girls in ways that are significant to them—to sign up for both She Senders and Hale’s Youth MTB Club!
Yes. We ask that each participant has a mountain bike that is in good working order and fits the rider.
