Kristen Hanson
Kristen researches, writes, and manages grant proposals and builds relationships with corporate, educational, and community partners. She is a seasoned professional with a diverse background of experience in outdoor adventure, environmental education, and nonprofit leadership. She began her career with fieldwork on whale-watching boats, in an EPA lab, and as a Registered Maine Guide, and is a former member of the USA National Wildwater Kayak Team. Kristen later ran a Florida outdoor center for 14 years, leading river cleanups, expanding access through scholarships, and earning a “Best Guided Tours” award. She has also contributed to Pelican Island Audubon Society and Camp Live Oak, building programs and securing grants for youth outdoor experiences.
Kristen earned a B.S in Biology from Mitchell College, is a Florida Master Naturalist, and has teaching and wilderness certifications. Outside of work, she is an award-winning cosplay artist and painter.
